Designed a comprehensive B2B website for Momeni, enhancing the brand presentation and user experience for rug dealers. The redesign focused on improving navigation, visual branding, and product presentation to better meet the needs of small and large rug dealers globally.
Momeni is a prominent family-owned company specializing in the manufacture and import of high-quality area rugs, carpeting, and home decor, serving a global clientele of small and large rug dealers.
The primary challenge was to redesign the Momeni website with a focus on the homepage to enhance branding and later extend the redesign to the business's backend for B2B clients. The redesign aimed to clarify the company's offerings, enhance brand perception, and improve site navigation.
Despite the tight timeline, I conducted an in-depth interview to gather user insights. Although my wife, who participated as a proxy user, wasn't actively looking to purchase a rug, her feedback was invaluable. She highlighted several user frustrations with the current site, such as unclear business identity, confusing navigation, and visual inconsistencies.
Our target B2B users needed a rug manufacturer that offered a vast selection of styles, credibility, high-quality products, and competitive pricing. This formed the foundation of our redesign objectives.
A thorough analysis of competitors provided insights into industry standards and user expectations, helping us identify areas for improvement in Momeni's site.
The top navigation was overhauled to provide a seamless journey for new rug dealers. This redesign included integrating images for immediate visual context and allowing users to explore collections, categories, and showroom details directly from the homepage, enhancing user engagement without needing to navigate away.
I maintained the existing color palette to ensure stakeholder buy-in and introduced new icons to elucidate different rug styles. To emphasize Momeni's identity as a quality family-owned business, I integrated new serif and sans-serif fonts (Noto Serif KR & Montserrat) and enhanced the homepage's About Us section.
Reflecting competitive insights, I incorporated environment-themed rug visuals into the website to aid users in visualizing products in context. Each section was designed to clearly detail the items and included strong calls to action to drive user engagement and conversions.
